Cherry Kitchen Remodel in Hudson, OH
This Hudson kitchen remodel was a detailed custom project that reached well beyond cabinet replacement. The kitchen was demoed, utilities were relocated, and the space was redesigned around custom cherry inset cabinets, Cambria countertops, a full-height splash, new flooring, updated lighting, wainscoting, custom interior doors, plumbing, and electrical work.
The before photos show a kitchen with warm wood cabinetry, tile floors, and a more traditional layout. It had character, but the room needed a more refined plan, better flow, and a finish level that matched the rest of the home. Urban Custom Kitchens & Design rebuilt the space with a stronger sense of craftsmanship, from the cabinetry to the surrounding trim details.

Hudson Kitchen Remodel Made to Last
The custom cherry inset cabinets are the center of the finished kitchen. Inset cabinetry has a more exacting look because each door and drawer front sits inside the face frame rather than resting on top of it. That detail gives the kitchen a cleaner, more furniture-like appearance, especially with the natural depth and grain of cherry.
The Cambria countertops and full-height splash bring contrast to the wood and keep the work areas feeling bright. Around the cooktop and sink, the surface continues up the wall instead of stopping at a standard backsplash height, which gives the kitchen a more complete built-in look. It also helps balance the richness of the cherry cabinets with a lighter, cleaner surface.
The Unmatched Amish Quality at Every Level
This project included several pieces that are easy to miss if you only look at the finished photos. Utilities were relocated to support the new design. Plumbing and electrical work had to be coordinated with the cabinet layout, lighting plan, appliances, and countertops. The result feels seamless because those decisions were handled together rather than patched in after the fact.
The surrounding details also matter. Wainscoting gives the dining area and adjoining walls more structure. Custom interior doors and built-in storage pieces help the remodeled kitchen feel connected to the rest of the home instead of standing apart from it. New flooring and updated lighting bring the whole space together, making the kitchen feel warmer, brighter, and more carefully finished.
